The remains of Wm. Sellers will arrive tonight from Guthrie, OK where the deceased died yesterday at the age of 77 years. He was born in Butler County, Ohio and was married to Miss Jane McGilliard who died 41 years ago. Four children survive them. James a son is here to receive the remains. The funeral will be conducted at OM Gregg’s at 2 o’clock tomorrow. Interment at Oak Hill. Source: Crawfordsville, Indiana, Weekly Argus News Nov 11, 1893 p 4 At 8 o’clock at the Catholic Church this morning Father Dineen united in matrimony Mr. Patrick Kennedy of Indianapolis and Miss Mary Layne of Cherry Grove. The attendants were Maggie Layne, sister of the bride and a brother of the groom. The church was full of friends who unite in extending their best wishes to the newly wedded who have gone to Chicago for a short visit. William Sellers died at the home of his son, Isaac, at Guthrie, Oklahoma, yesterday. His remains will be brought to this city and will arrive tomorrow. The funeral services will be held at the residence of O. M. Gregg tomorrow at 2 o’clock, after which the interment will be made at Oak Hill Cemetery.  Mr. Sellers was born in Butler County, Ohio, in 1816, and was therefore 77 years old. When but a youth he came to this city and lived here the remainder of his life with the exception of the last few years when he went to Frankfort and from there to Guthrie. Here he married and here his children were born. His wife died forty one years ago. For forty two years he was the owner of the lot on which The Journal building stands. He leaves four sons, James S. of Frankfort, John who lives in California, William in Sullivan County, and Isaac in Guthrie, Oklahoma.

Monday night the remains of William Sellers arrived in this city from Guthrie, Oklahoma where the deceased died last Sunday at the age of 77 years. Mr. Sellers passed the greater portion of his life in this city and is well remembered by many of our older citizens. The funeral occurred from the residence of OM Gregg Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock.  Interment at Oak Hill. = kbz
